ZURICH There are so many things that come to mind when I think of the word 'SWISS'. We have the delicious swiss chocolate, swiss cheese, swiss rolls, and last but not least swiss hot chocolate mix! I mean yum right? So you can imagine my excitement, along with the excitement of my stomach, that I felt when entering the beautiful country of Switzerland! Besides being one of the few countries in Europe that doesn't use the 'euro', I've found that Switzerland in general is expensive! I only visited the city of Zurich for a few days, and that alone set me back about $200+ USD! Once I was able to look past the large hole in my wallet, I found this city to be one of a kind! It comes as no surprise as to why the country is so expensive. I mean look at all it has to offer - The amazing natural beauty of the majestic Alps, the placid lakes, quaint villages, cosmopolitan cities and towering castles. That’s just some of what Switzerland has to offer. Add to it some shopping, wine tasting, delectable chocolates and cheeses and it gets even better. Zurich is Switzerland's financial district and offers the best standard of living in the world, which once again proves as to why it is so costly to visit, let alone, live here. This city offers one of the best shopping streets in the world - Bahnhofstrasse. There you can find high-priced designers from all over the world. It's also a great place to enjoy the outdoors and take a relaxing boat cruise across the famous Lake Zurich. The city also offers a lot historically such as the magnificent St. Peters Church, Grossmunster, and the beautiful Opera House. Below I will provide a brief outline on the highlights of Zurich that I experienced. I will also include the costs, location, and hours of each place visited. Accomodation |
