ARRIVING at Kuala lumpur international airportKuala Lumpur International Airport, also known as KLIA, is the main airport for Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The airport is located about an hour’s drive away from the city center. It is also the largest and busiest airport in the entire country. With that said, it can become very overwhelming once you arrive. Once you get off the plane you will have to find the customs line before collecting your bags if you checked any. After you are granted entry into the country, you will exit through a duty free store and immediately become overwhelmed with how MASSIVE this airport is. If you are looking to get a SIM card, I would recommend doing so before leaving the airport. They are relatively cheap, about $10-15 for a 2GB data plan, which is more than enough for a week. Also, there are a bunch of ATM's located throughout the airport. The metro is really easy to find at the airport because it is located at the same terminal you arrive in. They also have people all over that are willing to help you with directions. Once you find the correct metro station, you can go just about anywhere you need to! They offer two types of transit systems - the metro and the train. KOMUTER card: Once you purchase this card you can continue to reload it throughout your time in Malaysia. It will always have a balance of at least $1.00, but you will need to maintain a balance of at least $3.00 in order to use it. ACCOMMODATION IN Kuala lumpurREGALIA SUITES & RESIDENCES Location: Jalan Anjung Putra, 2, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50480 Kuala Lumpur Cost: 1 bedroom apartment starts at $50 per night Hours: front desk security available 24/7 Website: http://www.regalia-residence.com/ Top places to eat IN KUALA LUMPURI was fortunate enough to have a fully stocked kitchen in the apartment that I was staying at, so I didn't need to eat out as much. However, there were a few spots I did happen to stumble across that are worth mentioning. Kuala Lumpur has a rather large selection of food choices to pick from, whether you're in the mood for some rooftop snacks, a sit down 3-course dinner, or some exotic street food, you are sure to find something that will satisfy your hunger in this variety-filled city! TOP THINGS TO DO & SEE IN KUALA LUMPURKuala Lumpur is not like the rest of southeast Asia, in my opinion. The city itself has a very Metropolitan vibe with a very diverse population. Before going to Malaysia, I didn't really have any idea as to what to expect, besides what I had seen on travel blogs or instagram pictures. The Petronas towers were obviously a given, as well as the heli-pad lounge, but other than that I wasn't sure what else there was to see or do in this city. After extensive research, I was able to compile an itinerary for the 4 days I visited Malaysia. Below I will provide some recommendations for nightlife, day-time explorations & activities, and of course shopping! PETRONAS TOWERS

DAY TRIP TO MALACCAHOW TO GET TO MALACCA: The easiest and most efficient way to get to Malacca is by coach bus. All buses depart from the Bus Terminal located at KL Sentral station, which can be easily accessed by train from any area. Once you arrive you will be directed to the ticket counter and you can choose from a list of companies that are currently available. After doing some research I had found that KKKL was a great company and was highly recommended by other tourists. The one way ticket to Malacca costs 12 MYR and the journey takes about 2 - 2.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur, depending on traffic. The bus itself is super comfortable - all seats recline pretty far back and there is so much space provided for each passenger. I will admit, it felt pretty luxurious for the price. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: You must have a valid form of ID or passport with you in order to obtain a bus ticket. WHERE TO EAT IN MALACCA: Since I only spent less than 10 hours in Malacca, there was only one place I stopped to eat at - and it did not disappoint AT ALL! The Daily Fix was literally a hidden gem located among all the other stores on the popular Jonker Street. From the outside it looks like a tiny little cafe that only serves coffee and a few pastries, but once you head inside, past the gift shop, you will find that it opens up into a charming little restaurant. The menu is full of options ranging from breakfast foods to dinner foods. The menu includes affordable Latte/ Cappuccino/ Flat White (RM10.50). Flavoured Latte (RM11), Brunch (RM16.50), Pasta (RM18.50 – 22.50), and their signature Pancakes (RM11.90). WHAT TO DO AND SEE IN MALACCA: Malacca is a town that definitely surprised me - in a good way! I didn't feel like I was in Asia at all, in fact, it had more of a European vibe than anything else. In order to get the most out of our time here, we decided to hire a driver for 4-5 hours and pay a fixed price. Between two people, it ended up costing about $40, which honestly wasn't bad at all. This is the way to do it if you are pressed for time.
The taxi driver provided us with a list of popular tourist attractions and destinations, and we were given the choice as to where we wanted to go within our time frame. Below I will provide a list of the top places we visited during our time in the beautiful town of Malacca!
